I prefer the book because there are more details and I can imagine the scenery.I think the book is the first account of the author.So, it's not the book who is different , for me, it's the film.The book is the soul and a part of the author too.And it's very important for me to feel this sensation of "entre into the scenery" when I read a book.
I prefer the movie because Charlie is less trouble. He seems less poor. He doesn't sleep on the floor, but he sleeps in a bed. There are more details in the film. We see a child who wins a golden ticket. Then, he is interviewed by journalists in the slaughter of his father. It's biting into the chocolate bar he found the ticket; because he had a small piece of paper in his mouth. The film is funnier than the book.
In the chapter one I prefer the book, because It is the original version. What I find the most incredible in the book is that charlie's family is extremly poor but verry loving with charlie. But charlie is verry generous with his family for exemple:"the bed was given to the four old grandparents because they were so old and tired." Whereas in the film charlie have a bed. In the book just like in the film, Mr.Bucket was the only person who work and this, this is verry striking...
I prefer the film, because in the book there are few Charlie's information whereas in the film, we see Charlie, so we know how he is. Also, in the book, Charlie sleeps on the floor whereas in the film , he sleeps in a bed. So he seems less poor than in the book.

I prefer the book because the book is more moving that the film. What strikes me most about the book is that Charlie is very poor. What I find most incredible in the book is that they live seven in the very little wooden house. Poor Charlie doesn't buy more than one chocolate bar a year.In the book chapter one is very well writter.
In my opinion, the book is as good as the film when it comes to chapter 1. I guess that the film has got a good introduction but the book is surprising and ironical in its introduction. I also think that the film's introduction is short because the film is shorter than the book. By the way, chapter 1 is the story's introduction.
